SC Johnson donating pest repellent to Gulf clean-up efforts

SC Johnson is donating pest repellent to assist clean up efforts along the Gulf Coast.

The Racine-based company will donate 5,000 products of Off! over the next few weeks to aid relief workers trying to clean up the BP oil spill. The products will be distributed to relief agencies, volunteers, government workers and contractor groups.

"Pests such as mosquitoes are prevalent in warm, humid climates, and SC Johnson is committed to ensuring the relief personnel working to protect the Gulf coast line, are themselves protected against mosquitoes that may carry the West Nile Virus," the company wrote in a press release.

SC Johnson is partnering with Gifts in Kind International, an international non-profit organization and one of the country's largest charities, to distribute the pest control products.
